We will read and discuss the books Winnie-the-Pooh and The House At Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne. While reading these classics, we will study the elements of a story, vocabulary, and grammar. The class will focus on reading comprehension, sentence and paragraph structure, as well as word choice.
Course Overview:
- Literary Exploration:
Students will engage with classic children’s literature to build comprehension and critical thinking skills. - Writing Fundamentals:
Activities will reinforce grammar, sentence construction, and effective word choice. - Story Elements:
Learn to identify and analyze characters, setting, plot, and theme within the text. - Science Integration:
Once a month, students will explore bee biology, pollination, and honey production through short science mini-lessons. - Hands-On Projects:
Creative crafts and learning activities will reinforce language skills and engage students in meaningful, take-home assignments.
