Fees and Payment Schedule

Cleaning Fee

  • $75 per family, included with first month’s tuition.
  • Covers custodial fee of $80/week for 30 weeks ($2,400 total).
  • May be reconsidered if the program expands to a second day.

Tuition

  • Paid monthly per student, per class.
  • Due on the first Monday of each month; considered late after the second Monday.
  • Pay via Venmo (@RoanokeSalemHomeschool), at the Welcome Center, or by check.
  • Based on the number of credit hours per class.

Materials Fees

  • Set by instructors and paid directly to them.
  • Check the course syllabus for details—fees may be one-time, semester-based, or monthly.
  • Some classes may have no materials fee at all.

Curriculum

  • Assigned by the instructor. Parents usually purchase curriculum separately.
  • May be free/open-source or bought online (Amazon, Christianbook.com, used, etc.).

Tuition Deposit

  • Equal to one month’s tuition per class.
  • Paid at the time of registration alongside the first month’s tuition.
  • Held until the final month of class or refunded if dropped within the first 2 weeks.

Class Swaps and Drop Deadlines

  • Swaps are free during the first two weeks of the semester.
  • After that, a $20 administrative fee applies per change.
  • All swaps/drops must be submitted in writing to avoid billing errors and ensure correct instructor pay.
  • Final day to swap/drop classes: October 7, 2024 (third Monday of the academic year).
  • Dropped classes after this date will result in forfeiture of the tuition deposit.

Late Payments

  • $15 late fee per student applies if tuition is paid after the 10th of the month.
  • If unpaid after 3 weeks, students may be held from class until the account is current.
  • Please communicate promptly—RSHA is willing to work with families when possible.

Returned Checks

  • $35 fee for returned checks (only applies to payments made to the academy, not instructors).

Instructor Pay

  • Instructors and substitutes are paid by the academy at the end of each month.
  • Instructor pay is based on actual monthly attendance.
