Reading aloud is a powerful and foundational skill for developing confidence in both literacy and public speaking. In this engaging class, students will practice the art of reading aloud using books from the Brave Books and Tuttle Twins collections—literature that is faith-based, ethically strong, and morally sound.
Course Overview:
- Read Aloud Skills:
Students will learn techniques such as reading with emphasis, fluency, pacing, and proper pauses for punctuation.
- Building Confidence:
Through regular practice and supportive feedback, students will grow comfortable reading in front of peers and develop the poise needed for public speaking.
- Interactive Discussions:
Each reading session will include guided conversations on the themes and values presented in the books, encouraging thoughtful engagement and comprehension.
- Student Leadership:
As students grow in skill and confidence, they will select a book from the Brave Books or Tuttle Twins collection to read aloud and lead the class in discussion.
- Love for Reading:
The goal of this course is not only to strengthen reading and speaking abilities but to inspire a lasting love for literature and self-expression.
