Personal Finance (9th-12th)

This high school Personal Finance course is designed to give students practical, real-world financial skills they can confidently use throughout adulthood. Through engaging lessons and hands-on activities, students will learn how to manage money wisely, make informed financial decisions, and build a strong foundation for future independence. The comprehensive curriculum makes financial literacy approachable, relevant, and easy to understand for teens, connecting directly to everyday life.

Course Overview:

  • Practical Money Management:
    Students learn essential skills like creating and managing a budget, understanding bank accounts, and navigating electronic banking and credit cards.
  • Understanding Credit and Loans:
    Students explore how credit scores work and why they matter, along with practical knowledge about car loans, mortgages, and student loans.
  • Taxes, Income, and Smart Spending:
    From understanding wages and paycheck deductions to sales tax, tipping, unit pricing, and using discounts and coupons, students gain confidence in real-world financial situations.
  • Investing and Insurance:
    Students are introduced to the basics of investing, car insurance, and health insurance, helping them prepare for important financial decisions they will face as adults.
  • Engaging Course Materials:
