Science Fair (6th – 8th)

This hands-on Science Fair course will guide students through the full process of creating, designing, and presenting their own science fair project from start to finish. Students will learn how to ask meaningful science questions, plan and complete experiments, collect results, and clearly explain what they discovered.

The course will culminate in a class Science Fair where students will share their projects through a display or presentation. Along the way, students will practice thinking like scientists while exploring how the world works in a fun, structured, and creative environment.

Course Overview:

  • Ask a Science Question:
    Learn how to choose a clear, testable question that can become the foundation of a strong science fair project.
  • Plan an Experiment:
    Develop a step-by-step experiment, identify needed materials, and learn how to make observations carefully.
  • Collect & Understand Results:
    Record data, look for patterns, and practice explaining what the results show.
  • Create a Display:
    Organize project information into a clear science fair board or presentation that communicates the student’s work.
  • Present with Confidence:
    Practice sharing the project with others by explaining the question, experiment, results, and conclusion.

Additional Information

This course is designed to help students build confidence in scientific thinking, project planning, observation, problem-solving, and communication. Students will enjoy exploring their own questions while learning how to turn curiosity into a complete science fair project.
