Learner Centered vs. Instructor Guided Learning

Learner Centered vs. Instructor Guided Learning

Learner-centered/instructor-guided learning is an approach to education that places the learner at the center of the learning process while the instructor acts as a guide or facilitator. In this approach, the instructor’s role is to provide guidance and support to learners as they take an active role in their learning process.

The learner-centered aspect of this approach emphasizes that the learners’ needs, interests, and goals are the focal point of the learning experience. Learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning, set their learning objectives, and be actively involved in the learning process.

Instructor-guided learning means that the instructor provides structure and guidance to the learning experience while allowing the learners to take the lead. The instructor’s role is to support and facilitate learning, provide feedback, and create opportunities for learners to interact with the material and each other.

Overall, learner-centered/instructor-guided learning is an approach that empowers learners to take ownership of their learning while also benefiting from the guidance and support of an experienced instructor.
